Personal History:

If you asked most of Tanith's graduating class about Tanith, they'd say "Who?" Despite graduating in the top 10 of her class, no one seems to remember her. Average in every way, she tends to be forgotten almost as soon as she'd noticed, something that isn't helped by her perpetual sleepy pace and the fact that she doesn't talk much. She could tell almost immediately when she got her first assignment as a Cadet that this would be something of a problem for her- how are you supposed to have a career when people overlook you constantly?

Fortunately (or unfortunately) for Tanith, she was quickly recruited by Starfleet Intelligence, when she was noticed (or failed to be noticed) by one Commander Lee, who realized that what had been her greatest flaw as a potential Starfleet officer would make her a most excellent undercover intelligence officer. Commander Lee became her mentor and handler, and for a while it seemed that she was destined to have a great career, until Commander Lee passed away. She was shuffled off to a new, inexperienced handler, who ended up cracking under the strain of covert operations, quitting, and summarily completely forgot to pass her files on.

Only knowing her handler had disappeared, Tanith assumed the worst and continued working on her assignment, waiting for SFI to send her a new contact. As months turned into years, Tanith doggedly worked at her assignment with Harad Sar, a member of the Orion Syndicate who operated in the Triangle, out of a space station called LIMBO, run by a Romulan called Tella Yavin. There she worked for four years, until Tella Yavin, angered by the actions of a rogue Federation Starship, forcibly ejected all Federation citizens from LIMBO. Tanith escaped on the USS PHOENIX, who took on refugees from LIMBO, and made her way to a planet called Elandipole, before making her way back to Federation space, and back to SFI headquarters.  She caused something of a stir when she reappeared, and it was quickly decided that she wouldn't be given a new undercover assignment. Instead, she was assigned to the ANUBIS to begin acclimation back into 'civillian' life, as it were.

People still tend to overlook her until they get to know her, but once they get past the fact that she outwardly seems like she should be the most boring person in the galaxy, they quickly find that she's quick witted, and that she has an outlandish story of her exploits for every occasion. Some of them seem rather improbable, but she doesn't seem to be the type to lie. She's also very lucky, the type of person that always seems to accidentally trip the right person, break the right thing at the right time, or just stumble over something that will be useful..
