The young Kzinti rushed down to Main Engineering as she had been instructed, calling multiple men and women to her aid. The entire ship was in chaos, and it made it all worse that most communications were down... somehow. The Ensign hurried everyone ahead of her, preferring to stay behind her group when faced with the Oltharian.

It's not that she didn't enjoy the gentle giant's company, she was merely intimidated by his height. Hex had never met anyone so... large before. The Kzinti decided that she'd be one of a group instead of leading it when meeting with him. It would ease at least some of her nerves.

Screams erupted from almost every deck, though the Kzinti wanted to stop and help, she pressed forward. The fuzzy officer had to reach Main Engineering before one of her own officers broke down and begun the screaming. Hex was worried for the safety of everyone, yet she was powerless to help.

Too little too late, she was forced to leave two people behind; in the care of the nurses of course. The Ensign reached the door of Main Engineering just before another in her ranks collapsed under the pressure of his own mind.

"This can't be happening," the cat-like Ensign muttered harshly under her breath, "if this... thing keeps happening, not only will all our crew be helpless, but I'm sure the Romulans would enjoy having such an easy target."

Everything was a blur, sight, sound and even the smells that the Kzinti cherished so much. Every sent of hers was dulled under her stress and her ear was getting sore from the constant movement. Soon enough it would be defeated and no longer bother to stand straight like the other one.

Hex allowed all the others to go in before her, as she had planned, and was about to go in herself when movement caught her eye. Just never the door something was shimmering in and out, not fully solid but not properly gaseous either.

The Kzinti watched anxiously to see if it was someone from the other ship hoping to catch the ANUBIS crew unawares as they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. What she saw materialize not only seemed to shatter her soul, but she felt a pain in her chest like never before.

The pain waxed and waned like EARTH's moon itself, burning a hole in her chest and quickly spreading to each end of her body. [[No,]] Hex wanted to cry, settling instead for kneeling heavily on the ground. Her eyes were glazed over, bur she was fighting for control.

In a hoarse whisper, the Kzinti addressed the newest entity on board the ANUBIS, "Mother..."
