Setting: SPHINX, Control Deck
Stardate: 30148.0725

The SPHINX appeared small in comparison to other mobile orbital drop ships. The mission specifications that it had been designed for though had forced it to be a highly versitile and compact craft.  Able to carry the entire Senior Staff along with a few extra bodies meant that there had been more than enough room for the six Officers current on board.

The control deck at the front of the SPHINX held four stations; the two that faced forward were used for driving and flying the craft as well all other engineering related tasks. These stations were currently occupied by Lieutenant Dalziel and Lieutenant Paquette.

The Chief Engineering Officer had been perfectly at ease sitting at one of these stations, and surprisingly enough the Counsellor appeared equally at home at the controls of the SPHINX.

The two other stations set to the left and right of the command deck were set for tactical, sensors, communication and life support. One simple and lonely chair sat in the middle of all these, a seat reserved for the officer in charge of the mission.

With the available officers and the Shillian acting First Officer in the central chair, the remaining stations had been named by the Intel Liaison Officer and Chief Medical Officer.  Unfortunately this left Ensign Mizore Seska without an actual task to perform.

The Bajoran-born woman stood behind the command chair silently wondering why she had been dragged into this. The words said to her by Captain Morningstar played over and over in the mind of the assistant Medical Officer but they did not seemed to answer her questions. All that Ensign Mizore could do was hope that her usefulness would come into play as the mission progressed.

"All stations, status report," the Shillian Scientist demanded having only limited access to data from her station.

"Flight is showing green across the board," Eve reported first.

"Engineering systems are working above standards. We are ready to launch," Lieutenant Paquette reported in next, glad to see that her extra few minutes of preparation had achieved much.

"Tactical and sensor systems are go," the Intel Officer reported next.

"Life support and communications are fully operational," Doctor Doyanne said next as she shot a rapid glance towards her standing assistant.

Having noticed the glance, the acting Executive Officer turned to the standing Bajoran.  "You will want to sit and strap in for the next part."

Seska quickly looked around and found an emergency seat to use.

"SPHINX to ANUBIS. We are GO."

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Deck 29, outside the SPHINX
Stardate: 30148.0730

The electrical buzz of the force field beneath the craft being activated filled the large room. Seconds later the ventral doors opened leaving the SPHINX hovering over open space and the surface of the moon several hundred kilometers below.

When the force field was removed, the SPHINX fell out of the ANUBIS and began its journey to the moon of PI ALPHA III.
